Peckar & Abramson Attorney Brett Moritz Board Certified in Construction Law by the Florida Bar

Peckar & Abramson, P.C. (P&A) is pleased to announce that senior counsel Brett J. Moritz recently passed the Florida Bar’s Certification Exam and is now Board Certified in construction law by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education.
With this prestigious accomplishment, the organization now recognizes Brett as an attorney proficient in legal matters relating to the design and construction of improvements on private and public projects. Of the over 100,000 lawyers in Florida, only about four percent are board-certified in construction law.
According to the Florida Bar, “the process for construction law certification is rigorous and includes practicing construction law for at least five years, showing substantial involvement in construction law, completing 45 hours of approved construction law certification, continuing legal education, peer review, and a written examination.”

Brett joins five other P&A attorneys in the Miami office who hold this certification – Jerry P. Brodsky, Adam Handfinger, Mindy Gentile, Stephen Reisman, and Gary Stein.
About Brett J. Moritz
Brett focuses on transactional matters and a variety of litigation issues, representing developers, contractors, and other construction professionals in all manners of commercial disputes. He works with clients before, during and after construction drafting/negotiating contracts, project administration to avoid disputes and ensure project success and, where unavoidable, the litigation of claims.
Brett graduated magna cum laude from the University of Miami in 2012, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He went on to receive a Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law where he graduated magna cum laude and as a member of the Order of the Coif.
