Litigation Paralegal – River Edge, NJ

Peckar & Abramson, P.C., a prominent national law firm, is seeking a litigation paralegal to work in the firm’s New Jersey office with its construction and corporate law practice groups.  Our paralegals assist and support our attorneys with administrative tasks and legal research.  The candidate should demonstrate excellent organizational skills as well as strong written and oral communication, legal research and analytical ability.

Minimum Job Requirements:

-Associates Degree or higher in paralegal studies; law or a related field (foreign equivalent degree will be accepted);

-Three (3) years of construction law experience, including assisting attorneys with the negotiation and drafting of contracts and agreements for complex construction and infrastructure projects;

-Three (3) years of experience in public procurement;

-Three (3) years of experience working with multinational corporations, including registration of their presence, assisting with obtaining work visas and permits, and cross-border transactions;

-Three (3) years of experience of corporate law experience, including the drafting of corporate formation documents, compliance with local/regulatory laws and preparations for government audits;

-Three (3) years of experience assisting attorneys in construction-related alternative dispute resolution proceedings;

-Three (3) years of experience assisting attorneys with construction-related litigation;

-Three (3) years of experience providing legal services for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects with a value of $400,000,000 or more; and

-Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word and Excel

Associate/Senior Counsel, Contracts, Project Documentation and Risk Management – New York, NY

Peckar & Abramson, a prominent national law firm, is currently seeking candidates for its Contracts, Project Documentation and Risk Management Department in its New York City office. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated candidates to play an important role in the firm’s growing construction transactional practice.

The candidate would be working within a team of lawyers dedicated to drafting, negotiating and reviewing construction contracts and other transactional documents relating to construction projects. Construction law experience, an interest in the industry, and superior writing and communication skills are required. The position involves a significant amount of client interaction, and the ability to distill and effectively convey complex legal concepts is paramount.

Interested candidates should have strong academic credentials and 3-7 years of experience practicing in a law firm or in-house role. NYS Bar preferred.
