Michael Zisa will be a speaker at the Best Bonds on the Beach continuing education seminar hosted by HCC Surety Group on September 30 – October 1, 2014. Michael will be speaking at a session entitled “Back-off! That’s My Money: A Surety’s Entitlement to Contract Proceeds” on October 1 at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club in Stevensville, Maryland. During this session, Michael will discuss: theories of the surety’s entitlement to contract proceeds including assignment and equitable subrogation; the necessary steps to perfect the surety’s rights; competing claims and interests to contract proceeds; and common scenarios confronted by sureties.
