The 5th Annual Groundbreaking Women in Construction (GWIC) conference, sponsored by ENR in partnership with Peckar & Abramson, will take place on June 12, 2014 at the McGraw-Hill Conference Center in New York City. The conference brings women together from across the country to share in a one day event that will explore the challenges women face in construction and how they compare to other industries, investigate tactics for overcoming stereotypes and help identify and manage opportunities for future professional growth of women in construction. This year’s conference, “Personal Career Strategies to Advance Your Professional Path” gives women in construction the opportunity to learn success strategies from others who have advanced through the ranks, explore the shifting dynamics among genders in the construction workplace and make connections to further their careers. Melinda Gentile along with Janice L. Tuchman of Engineering News-Record will co-chair this event.
