Eric Gruzen is a partner in Peckar & Abramson's Labor and Employment Law Department. He defends Employment Practices Liability Insurance and Directors & Officers claims on behalf of employers in both state and federal courts as well as various state and federal fair employment practice agencies.
Mr. Gruzen has experience litigating and mediating employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistle-blower, wrongful discharge, defamation and other employment related cases. He has also successfully defended employers before various governmental administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing and the California Department of Industrial Relations – Division of Labor Standards Enforcement.
Mr. Gruzen also represents employers in wage and hour matters under both the California Labor Code and the Fair Labor Standards Act, including class action/litigation.
Mr. Gruzen also advises employers on a wide variety of employment related matters and compliance issues, including employment policies and procedures, contracts, disciplinary issues, leaves of absence and accommodations, complaints, benefits, proprietary information and restrictive covenants and compensation. He also provides comprehensive employment practices audits on best work place practices, sexual harassment investigations and internal workplace compliance with EEO laws.
Mr. Gruzen also has experience in construction law and commercial litigation and represents large general contractors, developers/owners/operators, and associations.
