Nicole Markowitz is a senior associate in Peckar & Abramson’s River Edge, New Jersey office, focusing on construction litigation, dispute resolution and commercial disputes. She represents a wide range of construction industry clients, handling complex contract disputes, delay claims and construction defects.
“Successful litigation begins with understanding the client’s business goals – be it a specific action or monetary matter. Effective communication and development of case management strategies are equally important.”
Nicole brings a fresh perspective to each case she handles, finding creative solutions to the most complex problems. Nicole has a depth of experience litigating cases in federal and state court, both in pre-trial practice and as lead trial attorney. She also successfully represents clients in mediations and arbitrations to obtain optimal, cost-effective results for her clients.
Prior to joining Peckar & Abramson, Nicole was a litigation attorney with a leading New York civil litigation law firm, where she handled dispute resolution and commercial litigation for construction companies and a variety of corporations. Prior to that, Nicole held the position of senior counsel in the Tort Division of the New York City Law Department, representing the City against premises liability claims and personal injury claims. In addition to her civil litigation experience, Nicole also practiced as a prosecutor in the New York City Law Department’s Family Court Division.
