James L. Deem is Of Counsel in Peckar & Abramson’s Dallas office. Mr. Deem has extensive experience in helping clients prepare and negotiate well-balanced risk allocations in their contract agreements, in all of their various forms. He assists clients in finding reasonable resolutions to project issues before they become more complicated, and when needed, helps resolve disputes through litigation, arbitration, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Mr. Deem represents a wide range of clients, including owners, developers, commercial contractors, and surety bonding companies. An adept negotiator, he has successfully defended and achieved recovery for several large general contractors and has represented a major corporate owner entity following a general contractor default and significant mechanic’s lien damage claims. Goal-oriented in his approach, he aims to achieve reasonable agreements that minimize the legal exposure of his clients.
