Ian Schlanger is Senior Counsel in the Real Estate Law Practice at Peckar & Abramson, where he counsels a wide range of clients in nearly all aspects of commercial real estate investment and development. He offers an efficient and practical approach when handling complex transactions, and his practice provides a full complement of services, including acquisitions, sales, financing and leasing.

Mr. Schlanger regularly provides counsel on acquisitions and sales of commercial property, navigating various municipal departments and boards in relation to project development and zoning analysis for specific project needs. He has experience negotiating and drafting letters of intent and commercial leases, and has represented borrowers and lenders (including a large regional bank) in the negotiation and closing of multi-million commercial loans, lines of credit and construction mortgages.
Prior to joining Peckar & Abramson, Mr. Schlanger was an attorney with the Real Estate & Zoning practice of a prominent New York-based law firm, where he counseled clients on zoning and related project approvals, development agreements, long term leases, ground leases, construction financing and the negotiation and review of residential and commercial loan documents. He has extensive experience negotiating loan documents in connection with mortgage and mezzanine loan transactions, including term sheets, pledge and equity agreements, participation agreements and inter-creditor agreements.
Mr. Schlanger also regularly counsels clients on various corporate matters, including formation and governance. Mr. Schlanger received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and his law degree from Albany Law School of Union University, with honors, where he served as Associate Editor of The Albany Law School Environmental Outlook Journal.
