A wide range of experience and knowledge

Our Environmental Law Group includes attorneys who are both counselors and litigators. They understand the potential penalties if environmental issues are overlooked or ignored.

While we assist and counsel individuals and organizations on ways to avoid litigation, our Environmental Law Group is fully equipped to vigorously defend clients in the event of enforcement or toxic tort actions. We often represent clients facing enforcement actions by state and federal agencies, as well as actions brought by private citizens or businesses alleging environmental violations. As one example among many, we recently successfully defended a major oil and gas company against RCRA claims involving underground storage tank leak incidents.

Our breadth of experience in defending toxic tort litigation includes class and individual actions seeking damages for wrongful death, personal injury and property damage arising from groundwater and soil contamination.

Navigating and streamlining the permitting process

Our Environmental Law Group also helps clients with environmental permitting, including those related to:

  • Hazardous waste
  • Wastewater
  • Stormwater
  • Air emissions
  • Demolition
  • Urban infill (brownfields)
  • Building on or near environmentally sensitive lands

  • Recycling of project waste materials
  • Proper disposal of materials at third-party sites
