Sean Ryan is a partner who has extensive experience representing clients in the United States and internationally on construction and hazardous materials remediation projects. Projects have included office buildings, schools, hospitals, hotels, condominiums, stadiums, dams and pipelines. Mr. Ryan’s practice focuses on contracts and risk management. He is experienced in reviewing, drafting and negotiating construction contracts, including design-build and EPC contracts and Federal, State and local government contracts. Mr. Ryan has substantial government contracts experience, having counseled clients on FAR, DFAR, other federal agencies’ regulations, the Safety Act, the Truth in Negotiations Act, the False Claims Act, Federal Grant and Cooperative Agreements and export law. His government contracts experience includes in-house experience with an aerospace manufacturer and with a major systems integrator.

Mr. Ryan also counsels clients on claims and disputes. He was a member of an international legal team that analyzed, prepared and settled $300 million of claims on a pipeline project running through Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey, a dispute that was to be arbitrated under the rules of the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). Mr. Ryan represented a client developing a multi-billion dollar construction project in India. He has negotiated contracts for clients doing business in Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Japan.
Before joining the firm, he was in-house counsel for a designer and constructor of pharmaceutical and chemical plants. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Ryan worked for ten years with Architect/Engineering firms involved in power plant construction.

Mr. Ryan is a member of the American Bar Association (Public Contracts and Contract Documents Sections), the New York State Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He received his BA from Manhattan College and his JD from Pace University School of Law. He is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, Colorado and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.
