Eugene J. McTague, Jr. works closely with contractors and other construction industry members in their risk assessment, risk management, venture development activities, contract structuring, preparation and negotiation, as well as the drafting and prosecution of claims and dispute resolution activities. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. McTague was a former construction contract attorney with Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation; an Assistant Company Counsel and the Director of Product Litigation for Ingersoll-Rand Company; the Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of American Seating Company in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Prior to practicing law, he was a licensed Professional Engineer for nine years and held several project and industrial engineering positions.

Mr. McTague's work for Ingersoll-Rand and American Seating involved a full range of corporate counseling activities including the drafting of agreements, providing advice and counseling to business executives and officers, distributor/dealer matters, negotiation of project financings, formation and operation of joint ventures, acquisitions, divestitures, conducting product safety seminars for product divisions and the supervision of major product litigation. This broad experiential base affords Mr. McTague a uniquely integrated perspective of the operations and needs of all forms of business combinations and entities and also facilitates offering of advice concerning the structuring of business arrangements for the firm's clients.

In his early activities with Peckar & Abramson, Mr. McTague functioned as a civil litigator with a range of cases involving commercial, construction and real property matters.

Mr. McTague received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and his JD degree from Seton Hall University School of Law, which was pursued in an evening curriculum while he worked as an engineer at a major pharmaceutical corporation.

Mr. McTague is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York as well as the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second, Third and Sixth Circuits and the United States District Courts for the District of New Jersey and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Mr. McTague holds Martindale-Hubbell's highest, AV rating.
