Mr. Handfinger focuses his practice on commercial litigation matters representing construction professionals in issues relating to contract negotiation, project management, payment, lien/claim waivers, construction liens, bond claims, the project close-out process as well as the litigation of disputes. Mr. Handfinger’s experience includes settlement negotiations at all stages of construction projects and he has worked to resolve disputes with vendors and suppliers, subcontractors, payment and performance bond sureties, liability insurers, lenders and owners.

A significant portion of Mr. Handfinger’s practice includes on-site counsel and advice to clients during construction projects. Mr. Handfinger assists in solving problems when they arise in order to immediately resolve same, reduce the impact to the Project and avoid litigation. Mr. Handfinger regularly meets with project management staff to address issues in real-time, which has proven to be an extremely effective way to resolve disputes that would otherwise be the subject of protracted and expensive litigation.

Mr. Handfinger received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, with highest honors, in 1996 from the University of Florida, his Masters in Business Administration from Emory University Goizueta School of Business in 2000 and his law degree from Emory University School of Law in 2000. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia and the State of Florida. Additionally, Mr. Handfinger is a Florida Bar Board Certified Construction Lawyer.

Mr. Handfinger has authored several articles on construction law and is a frequent lecturer at seminars on construction-related topics. In light of his accomplishments, Mr. Handfinger has been recognized as a 2009 and 2010 Florida Super Lawyer Rising Star in Construction Law.
