Eric M. Gruzen is a Partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office and represents large general contractors, developers, construction managers, subcontractors and owners. Mr. Gruzen has extensive experience in the area of construction law, real estate and commercial litigation. Mr. Gruzen represents and counsels contractors on a wide range of topics, including delay and interruption claims, contract disputes, defective work, and payment remedies in both private and public works. Mr. Gruzen also has wide-ranging litigation experience involving mechanic’s liens, surety bonds, and insurance. Projects have included office buildings, schools, hospitals, hotels, condominiums, and parking structures.
Mr. Gruzen also has experience representing businesses and individuals in the resolution of disputes through litigation, arbitration and mediation. He has experience in multiple large scale trials involving some of the country’s largest construction companies. Mr. Gruzen uses cutting edge computer technology to organize and manage documents and testimony, and present evidence in the courtroom.
Mr. Gruzen received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1999 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2002. While attending McGeorge, Mr. Gruzen served as Editor-In-Chief of The Transnational Lawyer and published an article in the same journal. Mr. Gruzen is admitted to practice law before the United States District Courts for the Central District of California, as well as all courts of the State of California and Nevada. He is also a member of the California Bar Association, Nevada Bar Association and the Los Angeles Bar Association. Mr. Gruzen is resident in the Los Angeles office.
