Gregory R. Begg is a Partner and co-chair of Peckar & Abramson's Labor Relations and Employment Law Department. He counsels private employers, public employers and ERISA entities in all matters of employment law, litigation and labor relations management. He has extensive experience representing employers in litigation involving race, gender, mental and physical disability, national origin and pregnancy discrimination as well as providing counseling regarding fair labor practices, union organization campaigns and representation in collective bargaining negotiations. He also represents the building industry in claims under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act and ERISA entities in benefits-related litigation.
Mr. Begg practices extensively before State and Federal courts, Fair Employment Practice Agencies, the National Labor Relations Board, State and Federal Departments of Labor, Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and various other employment-related State and Federal administrative agencies. Mr. Begg provides advice regarding compliance with State and Federal labor and employment laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Immigration Reform and Control Act and COBRA.Mr. Begg also provides consultation regarding investigative techniques, anti-substance abuse policies, confidentiality and non-competition agreements, wage and hour audits and employment practices audits. Mr. Begg's services also includeliability risk management and dispute resolution, including trade jurisdiction disputes.
Mr. Begg is a member of the National Society for Human Resource Management (New York Chapter) and the Labor and Employment Law Sections of the New York and New Jersey Bar Associations. He is the author of many publications discussing current developments in labor and employment law. He is also Co-Editor of Peckar & Abramson's Labor Relations and Employment Law Newsletter.
Mr. Begg received his Juris Doctorate Degree from St. John's University School of Law. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the State University of New York at Oneonta.
